As a student at Utah Valley University, I was asked to design an interactive experience in the form of a pamphlet. I chose to make a pamphlet about the different types of french fries and where you can find them. The purpose of this assignment was to practice making interactive experiences that utilize multiple platforms.

Goals:
-
Create a pamphlet that shows different french fry types and where to find them.
Audience:
-
French fry enthusiasts.
Getting Started
I decided to do this project on fries because I really like fries and I thought it would be fun to make a pamphlet that educated a user about the different kinds and where they could find them. To start this project I had to decide what colors to use in the design. It wasn’t too hard because red is a color proven to make you hungry. So I went with red and then added some colors that are softer on the eyes to help with the design process.

Next Steps
I then made a prototype. I decided that each french fry could have a QR code that led to the location where those french fries could be found. It would also be a good idea to have a picture of the fries that you could get at each location. The next step was easy! I digitized it and added color. It is always fun to work through what kind of design to add to a document or website. With this, I decided to go with boxes. It kind of reminded me of boxes that food comes in and looked really good.

Finishing Up
One thing I found to be difficult during this process is that I did not know where to find all the french fries at the start of this project. I had to do some research into what fries were where so that I could make the pamphlet. Most food places don't advertise what kind of fries they sell so I have to find pictures and look at reviews people made.

Overall I learned a lot about interactive experiences and style guides. I enjoyed making this one as I normally get too excited and skip them. I have learned the lesson though that style guides are important.
